James Fulton Pringle

James Fulton Pringle was a marine, portrait and landscape painter born in Sydenham, England but worked primarily in Brooklyn, New York. He studied under his father James Pringle and painted marine scenes for the British Admiralty before coming to the US where he gained a strong reputation for highly detailed ship portraits, shipbuilding scenes, and scenes of marine disasters.
