Lucius A. Briggs

Lucius A. Briggs was born in Massachusetts and the family moved to Providence, Rhode Island shortly after. He was listed in the Boston City Directories in of 1894-1896 as an artist. He died of Pneumonia in 1931. Although his work covers a host of genre's, and he advertised as a portrait artist, the majority of his work for which he is now best known, is his marine paintings in watercolor. Paintings by him of still-life are extremely rare.
