Carl Evers

Carl Evers was a leading marine artists of the 20th century depicting maritime subjects, mostly in watercolor, of tugboats, freigthers, liners, naval ships and ships in coastal waters. He was born in Dortmund, Germany and studied at the Slade School in London and in Sweden, before emigrating to the United States in 1947. A member of the Association of Marine Artists, the Navy League and the Artists Guild as well as the Society of Illustrators. Evers painted for the U.S. Naval Institute, Reader's Digest and his book covers have been published by Ballatine and Simon & Schuster.
