Asa Coolidge Warren

A. Coolidge Warren was Boston-based artist member of the short-lived Boston Artists’ Association (1841-1851). His work is featured in Picturesque America; or, The Land We Live In, a two-volume set of books describing and illustrating the scenery of America, containing over 49 steel-engraved plates and over 900 vintage wood engravings. The publication is a landmark work in American literature and art, captured the essence and beauty of the American landscape through vivid prose and stunning illustrations. 

Warren also drew 23 illustrations for Beyond the Mississippi, a travel log of Albert Deane Richardson (1833-1869), who was one of the best-known journalists in America during his time, from a few years before and after the American Civil War.
