Self-taught artist, born in San Mateo, California. Between 1965–70 Myers had extensive service in sailing ships which he alternated with periods of painting, then moved from California to Devon in 1971 and to Cornwall in 1974, settling at Woolley, Bude. Myers was made a fellow of American Society of Marine Artists from 1979; and a member of Canadian Society of Marine Artists in 1983. He illustrated various maritime books like Seamanship in the Age of Sail, by John Haland.
