Robert G. Skerrett

Robert Gregg Skerrett was born in 1868 in Warrenton, Virginia. He graduated with a law degree from Georgetown University in 1891 and in the 1910 Federal Census shows he and his wife living in New Jersey, and his occupation as civil engineer. By 1920, the Federal Census lists them as living in New York and his occupation is listed as lawyer. The 1930 Census puts them back in New Jersey and Skerrett is now a newspaper editor. Skerrett would write for the Department of the Navy, the Lake Submarine Boat Company, and was a freelancer writer for popular magazines. Regardless of his profession, Skerrett was a prolific author of scientific papers and articles throughout his career. His articles dealt with naval matters.
