Founded in 2017, Works on Water is an artist-driven experimental organization and triennial exhibition platform committed to uplifting artists who create on, in, and with bodies of water. Through interdisciplinary exhibitions, residencies, and public programs, Works on Water strengthens a global community of artists and expands the role of Water Art in confronting today’s ecological and social crises.
"We are artists and curators who work with water in response to the changing climate, increasing urban density, and a burgeoning public awareness of ecological concerns. Our work connects to current economic, political, and global issues and is in conversation with the traditions of Land Art, Public Art, and Performance Art, among others." – Emily Blumenfeld, Carolyn Hall, sTo Len, Clarinda Mac Low, Nancy Nowacek, and Sarah Cameron Sunde
